    We have an experience that 100 – 200 ng of mtDNA was extracted from 50 mg of liver tissue. The amount is enough to identify mtDNA on agarose gel analysis.

     

    1. FEATURES:
    2. mtDNA isolation with easy handling and timesaving. 
    3. Isolated mtDNA is pure enough to apply to the subsequent experiments 
      and PCR and restriction enzyme digestion.
    4. mtDNA isolated from 
      as much as 5 mg of tissue is enough to amplify given DNA fragment by PCR. 
      mtDNA isolated from 50 mg of tissues besides muscle tissues (250 mg) 
      can be detected by EtBr-staining after agarose gel electrophoresis. 
    5. The method is applicable to frozen tissues as well as fresh ones. 
    6. The preparation is performed without hazardous reagents such as 
      chloroform and aqueous phenol.
